I have a Foley Belsaw grinder that I do my rakers with, it works good because it has the adjustment on the vise to compensate for stone wear. Some used chains that have the rakers taken down with a grinder have been hardened so a raker file wont touch them and they have to go on the grinder to take them down. Takes a couple minutes on a small supermarket bench grinder to grind off the peened over part of the Vanguard rakers. On a new loop the chain will be a little aggressive after the raker mod, but it will settle as one keeps sharpening the teeth. I mod every Vanguard loop, it's well worth it. I only round file my chains.

Pretty sure mine wouldn't clear, and I have the same grinder, bought last year. If it will indeed clear, go for it. I've also found that setting the chain vise at 30deg, Didn't burn the rakers, but sometimes when the clamp was set to straight, straight it would burn. Stihl chains seem harder than Oregon to me and therefore can burn easier.

I have the same grinder and was also having trouble with the rakers. I bought an oregon measuring tool that lays on the cutters and the raker protrudes up through if it is over .025. I just run something like a credit card across it to tell if they are protruding.

My plastic chinese grinder is fixed at 60 degees and can't be adjusted. Got pictures ? I used to hate filing rakers because I was using a cheap, worn, coarse file that didn't want to cut. After switching to a quality, smooth file and a FOP, it only takes a minute to hand file rakers. But, nothing wrong with using a grinder if you like that better.
