I just purchased the belt conversion kit for the Seig X2 mini-mill from LittleMachineShop (I have a Craftex CT 133). I went to install the kit this weekend and the base plate mounting holes are slightly too close together, also the drive pulley for the machine head is slightly too large.

Little Machine Shop sells a belt drive conversion kit for X2 mills. It's their part number 2560. I looked at the "compatibility" tab, and though the Griz G0516 and G8689 are listed, the G0781 is not.

I've seen a couple different sets of plans that could be bought to build a belt drive conversion. I decided to try my hand and designing and building my own. I purchased some XL series timing pulleys and a belt from Econobelt to work with. The driven pulley for the spindle is a 36 tooth metric bore (8mm) with a 45 mm hub.

This is a belt drive conversion that can be almost completely 3d printed. My mill broke and I wanted to make a printable belt drive. It started out as only a temporary fix, but I've been using it for several months without problems. This conversion doesn't have a spindle lock yet. I've been using an er20 collet and haven't needed the spindle lock.
