At the beneficiation plant, the phosphate is separated from the sand and clay. The phosphate is sent by rail to a separate chemical processing plant where it is processed for use in fertilizer and other products. The chemical processing is done at separate facilities that are not regulated by the Mining and Mitigation Program.

اقرأ أكثرThis is a chemical beneficiation method, which is mainly used for carbonate-type phosphate rock with few silicate minerals. Carbonate minerals are used to liberate CO₂ under high temperature thermal decomposition, and then water is added to hydrate CaO and MgO into fine particles of Ca(OH)₂ and Mg(OH)₂.

اقرأ أكثرPhosphate deposits in Saudi Arabia are of sedimentary origin. Even though these deposits are of relatively high grade, carbonate minerals (calcite) constitute the majority of the associated impurities. In this context, this review will concentrate on recent advances in beneficiation of phosphate ores containing carbonate gangue.
